Poetry

I’m working on a collection of poetry called #unresolvedlonging about love and loss. A quirky mix of silly, sad and serious. 'Chocolat’ was published in 4th Floor Journal with the next one, 'The Fact Alternative' coming up in the November edition.
Chocolat
Bitter-sweet burst on the tip of her tongue, firecracker of perfect alchemy pressed to a
wafer-thin wisp of devilment. Was it possible?

Had they tricked her? Chocolate was so honest in America,
tainted with purity like Reese’s rule book
on a high school treat. Not so

this chocolat; seeping velvet, melting moment
of senseful, senseless, pleasure-filled richness;
chilli-spiked,
oh-so-innocent on gold leaf.
Frisk
you didn't see me
standing there
when you touched her,
confidentially,
frisking her secrets as you
embraced.
Banana skins

I put them on my roses
for potassium
it makes them grow in
clear white blooms

I know it's true because
they whisper to me
when I tend them
on my knees
